Salt is an important dietary ingredient that has been used since ancient times for cooking and food processing in human societies around the world. It is a type of salt. It is found in crystalline form. Common Salt refers to the salt used in food. Chemically, it is sodium chloride (NaCl), whose crystals are transparent and solid. Pure salt is colorless, but due to iron impurities it turns yellow or red. The salinity of the sea is mainly due to its presence of sodium chloride.

*Table Salt* :- Very finely ground pure sodium chloride. It does not get watery even with moisture in the air. It is kept on the dining table in fine-holed vials, and can be sprinkled on the food at hand when needed.

*Himalayan Pink Salt* :- This is the purest form of salt. It is found at the foothills of the Himalayas. This is called black salt. It is very tasty. It contains calcium, potassium, sodium and iron.
