📕 *What is pasteurized milk?* 📕
. . .
When we bring bags of milk, it says pasteurized milk. You may be wondering what is pasteurized. It is named after the scientist Louis Pasteur. This French scientist discovered the method of sterilizing milk, called ‘pasteurization’.

In order not to spoil the milk at home, either we keep it in the fridge or we boil it and keep it in the fridge. If milk is brought and kept like that, it spoils after some time. In summer this can happen very quickly. So many tankers of milk, lakhs of liters of milk are doing to keep the milk in the dairy, many people must have wondered. We will see what they do for this.

The process of heating milk to the right temperature for the right time to destroy all the pathogenic germs in it is called ‘pasteurization’. In this process there is no change in the components of milk in its color, smell, nutritional value etc.

Although there are several methods of pasteurization, one method is commonly used. In this method the milk is heated to 72°C very quickly in a very short time. Heat up to They hold the temperature for at least 15 seconds and then rapidly cool down to 4°C. This method can pasteurize very large quantities of milk every hour, this method is used in dairies.

Pasteurization gives us safe milk. Pasteurization kills 90% of germs. So if it is kept after bringing it home, the temperature in the room can cause the growth of these bacteria. Pasteurized milk should either be boiled or refrigerated after delivery to prevent spoilage.
